چکیده
Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) known as a Camel crop of cereals, is among the dominant staple food grains for majority Ethiopians. Forty nine sorghum genotypes (hybrids + open pollinated varieties) were tested at five locations in simple lattice design with two replications during 2016 main cropping season. The objectives this study to determine yield stability using univariate methods and assess association parameters striga resistant dry lowland areas Ethiopia. result combined analysis variance grain revealed highly significant (P≤0.001) difference Environment (E), Genotype (G) × Interaction (GEI). Based on ANOVA over locations, mean environments ranged from 588 kg ha-1 Humera 4508 Sheraro. highest was obtained ESH-1 (3278 ha-1), while lowest K5136 (735 ha-1) average 2184 ha-1. Different models used measuring genotype such AMMI Stability Value (ASV), Yield Index (YSI), coefficient regression (bi) deviation (S2di). significantly correlated bi (0.91), r2 (0.55) ASV (-0.56), it not S2di (-0.26). non-significant correlation statistics indicated that, provide information that can be collected yield. high positive expected values these higher yielding vice versa. Highly indicate they measure similarly. However, there inconsistencies used, which created uncertainty select or recommend stable genotypes. Therefore, data one year, necessary repeat experiment least more year across diverse

Analysis of grain yield stability and assessment of genotype × environment interaction for grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) genotypes
The interaction of genotype × environment creates complications in yield prediction and is a challenge for agronomy and plant breeding programs. To evaluate grain yield stability and genotype × environment interaction for 18 local and exotic grain sorghum cultivars, lines, and hybrids, a field experiment was conducted using randomized complete block design with three replications in four region...

Sorghum is an important forage crop used as silage, fresh forage and dry forage. To evaluate the yield stability of 16 genotypes; cultivars, lines and hybrids, of forage sorghum, experiments were conducted using randomized complete block design with three replications during 2016-17 at Karaj, Isfahan, Gorgan, and Mashhad field stations, Iran. The results of combined analysis of variance showed ...

Drought resistance is of enormous importance in crop production. The identification of genetic factors involved in plant response to drought stress provides a strong foundation for improving drought tolerance. Stay-green is a drought resistance trait in sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) that gives plants resistance to premature senescence under severe soil moisture stress during the post-flow...

Modulation of kernel storage proteins in grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench).
Sorghum prolamins, termed kafirins, are categorized into subgroups α, β, and γ. The kafirins are co-translationally translocated to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) where they are assembled into discrete protein bodies that tend to be poorly digestible with low functionality in food and feed applications. As a means to address the issues surrounding functionality and digestibility in sorghum, we ...
